AN OPEN LETTER TO (NON) HOARDERS

To All,

I am writing to ask for something which I think, would be difficult to comply especially  if you are  a compulsive hoarder. May this letter be a part of your process of letting go. Let go of the things that might be useful to others. Little by little separate the things you wish to keep longer. I know that you hold on to some trinkets because you want to keep the memory alongside. I respect your reasons but I need you to hear me.

Out there is a family or an individual who needs your thing. Those household items: TV, furniture, appliances, old-fashioned lighting will look refreshing in someone's haven. It would only need a few repairs and reinvention. If you are keeping building materials: flooring, doors and window, plumbing supplies, hand and power tools a home needs them. The list does not stop there. Books and cars are considered. Yes, cars too!

If you are ready you can give it to your neighbors or you can opt to donate your loved items to Habitat for Humanity ReStore. Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement charity store. Its purpose is to contribute to the work of Habitat for Humanity.

To Non-Hoarders, and the like consider taking a trip to the first in the Philippines and only ReStore in Asia, Lot 2 Block 2, G-3 Alabang - Zapote Road, Almanza Uno, Las Pinas City.

To All, we must remember that the things we have, whatever memories they remind us will be dusty and soon will wither. While they fit to be useful to others and can be recycled have thoughts of giving them away. Do it slowly.
If you are super ready do not hesitate to call 856-9342/ 807-1169/ 09275720887/ 09087273377 or write them a letter at restore@habitat.org.ph.
