Blackout Poetry Vol. 1

BLACKOUT POETRY

I found out about blackout poetry when I was searching for ways how to overcome writer’s block.  True enough, it eases the struggle but in the beginning, it was not easy. All the words that I read in a book are screaming to me, “Choose me! Choose me!”  Finally, I was able to comprehend Attractive Annie and Life.

I Am A Dreamer

I Am A Dreamer

I am a dreamer
Yes I am
Travel without minding that huge fare
Getting dirty camping I won’t care if it is not a glam

Ever since I am a dreamer
A gig in a runway
Giving out book and food for free
Own two houses, one in a city and one by the beach

Plea of A Clueless Heart

Plea of A Clueless Heart
I know it from the start
That truly I adore you
From the deepest of my heart
It shouts I Love You

In me I let it be keep
For know its craziness
This feeling takes me so long to sleep
It really makes me feel life’s loneliness

I implore you then, hear its cry
Wound be cured
By making a try
To love me so pure

DATE A GIRL WHO WRITES POETRY

It is with sincerity that I say
To every gentleman that wishes to stay
But never finds a reason to be still
Be patient and look for love that won’t frail

Allow this humble stranger to give you advice
Never judge a girl by her looks but on how she flies
You know she can if she writes poetry
Either she keeps it on her journal or in a bark of tree

So if you must, date a girl who writes poetry
She writes words to be free
When everyone else is dying to find their rhythm
She would sit with her pen trusting it to sign her name

Date a girl who writes poetry
Simply because she values the important of words
For her words once said is said
For her words once written is written

Date a girl who writes poetry
Once you do you’ll never be bored but be challenged
To figure her style and her metaphor
And once you can’t, all you have to do is ask straight

She writes from experience twisted with fiction
From a blank paper to a story that is yours
She is never violent in action
Though she may vent by turning them into a beautiful verse

Date a girl who writes poetry
Because she can balance her passion and her reality
So, my dear stranger, if you must
Date a girl who writes poetry

She who have experienced love more than what she thought
She is magic without pixie dust
She is time capsule

She is magic

GAME OF POWER

GAME OF POWER

My bad, I was late for the game
I arrived at the half break
It seems my team is winning
Without haste they can go to fame

Chance of good exit is at stake
Before the tossing of the coin
I knew they had fixed the game of power
Fool players for I am not getting any younger

No, I am not bitter on the result
It is just that I always see them
Too common, some tested, some unproven
Without me they can win

Yes! I crave for being a mainstay
They can’t stay on the arena forever
They should sit on the bench for a while
Or pass the ball to the exile

It is just that once in their chance
They go beyond the ability of their power
It is just that before their chance

They don’t prefer the game they are in

SALT AND LIGHT

I wrote this poem when I was in high school as an activity in one of my class. I don’t remember having difficulty writing this one. Up to now I am still not regretting that I do not use metaphors in this poem because I can still remember what is and how to be a salt and light. I don’t revise this because I want to share what I was thinking that time.

SAVE MOTHER EARTH

How wonderful to watch the sun rise and the way it set
The butterflies that are sipping pollen of colorful flowers
To hear the melodious voice of the birds in the tree
The laughter of the children playing hide-and-seek
To taste nature’s gift from sea and farm
All these are gifts from God
Time past
Man started to abuse nature
The green leaves are starting to turn gold
A sign of poverty, famine or may cause death
Land and water will be different
Marine life may vanish
Fresh air will be no more
Health or even life will be dangerous
 We will suffer
If this catastrophe occur when we are dead we are lucky
Though I doubt that we can find our luck in heaven
We will die!
We will die leaving unwanted legacy to our children and the next generation

Please help protect nature
Help save Mother Earth!
Help treasure the gifts of God
Act now!

NO REASON TO HATE

I have no reason to hate you
I have no right to tell you that you are wrong
Besides, no one really knows what is earthly correct
Unless, what you have been acting is under the demand of the modern society
So really, I have no reason to hate you

I’ve got something better than hatred
Though this one is very much complicated
Unlike hatred this one will make us a bunch of fools

This one can lead us to our smiling thoughts
This one can also destroy our poise
But somehow this is very reason of our existence

Even if we give up on it
Someone will come along and bring it back to life
This one I am offering is hard to explain

Funny, because there are moments that we deny this to ourselves
Yet, its existence is much enjoyed
More than anyone else, offering this is easy
But considering the ratio of our society this is hard

I have no reason to hate you
I have no reason to be sad
Because I have love to give
I have love to receive

I am in love
I am in love with the idea of loving
It so powerful that it outruns some childish hatred

I am in love with the thought of happy possibility
So really I’ve got no reason to hate you
I may had some heartbreaks but I will get over it

ENDOWMENT

ENDOWMENT
Wonders of the creation
Full of beauty and imagination
Gift from the heavens above
For His kindness and love

Each has its own beauty and purpose
For our goodness I suppose
So in Him let us be grateful
For making our life colourful

The morning sun that is so bright
Gives warm and delight
The moon and the stars in the evening
Sounds safe and securing

The trees swaying in the air
Give food, beauty and life to bear
The colourful flowers in the garden
Make us smile all of a sudden

Water deities ruled by Neptune
Home of every oceanic creation
Wind that blows every second each days
Utter his gentleness sometimes rudeness

Venomous snake of Africa and Asia
Large aquatic reptile of a tropical area
Possess something beneficial and common
Leathers, made from their skin

And then lives the best endowment
Man – bestowed of various talent
who care for this wonderful legacy
And gain their beauty

IDLE

You wait
You stand for hours
Or maybe for days
You really don’t know

You wait
You cannot move
Until someone tap you
So far no one did

BEST DAYS OF MY HEART

Waiting for my turn at window two
I hear your voice despite the noise
Curious, I look around
There you are with your red shirt and a new hair color

EMPTY JAR

empty jar

Though you are made of the finest hands
Embellished of all the precious funds
You have been here for almost a year
Witnessed an innovation on passing pair

SONG OF CONFESSION

A quote from Song of Confession

You were not a part of my world
Until one night you came knocking
Through a dream you let me noticed you
I never care to share so it may come true

WE ARE ONE

I am with the whole world
Same as the whole world is with me
Perhaps the best reason to consider
In this chaos
In this uncertain
In this life, my dear!
We are one with million people
No doubt and hesitation
When our cheeks blushed
And the sparkle in your eyes
Truly, we all fall in love
Have you?
It is love my dear
When we are one – one with our foes
One with the whole world
Taking chances and more than feeling sorry
Not because of heartaches
But because we love

WITH THE WILDS AND THE STRANGERS

With the wilds and the strangers I find comfort
Through their eyes I can see that we share the same longing
I find comfort sharing my disagreement
Because somehow, sometimes, we disagree

STIGMA

                                                                      STIGMA

                                                             I am not somebody’s
Noboy’s pride
Everybody’s nightmare
Nobody’s luck

CURSED DEJAVU

I hear the same song playing next door
The little aspiring singer on second voice
As always two candid cats lying on the floor
Hesitant in their meal as if they have a choice

WON’T BE OFF AS A DREAMER

I will never be tired on wishing
So as be exhausted on falling
Crossed fingers of a dreamer
Has its very own catcher

Like the stars that never leave
We just do not see them
Until they die and fall through a cloud’s rim
And appear in the eyes of a believer
In a patient heart of a dreamer

CHANGE OF SEASONS

Season we await come in its turn
Clouds’ teardrops are gone running
in every continent’s river to its deepest sea
in every mountain and roots under
Sip by thousand thirsty tree
Eaten by one hungry world
