9 Reasons To Be Grateful

I would like to begin by saying that I am grateful that you are here.

These days so much had been going on with life and on this earth that we live in; so much that I am not watching the news in TV anymore unless I want to know the weather situation. Despite all of these I am surprised with myself that I am staying positive. I no longer complain if things did not go my way. It must have been the effect of my recent attendance at the Metro Manila Regional Conference of SFC.

Things I am Afraid Of

I am not sure where to begin.  I have to pause there. I am not lying I am just typing continuously until I come up with something. It’s been a while since I posted here in the blog or shall I say It’s been a while since have written, not even a complete paragraph. I am not sure.

Life Lately + Looking For Mr. Right

Being a bridesmaid needs agility.

There is no doubt that I am busy these days. I am trying my best to show up whenever I am wanted and needed. I am not usually home 24/7. I think my parents are getting used to my schedule.

 So life lately:

The Happy List // 5

It is almost 5 am.  I woke up sweaty because of the heat. It is really summer. While some are enjoying their vacation. I am eating for breakfast to leave for work. I feel bad not being around often. So I figured I do a quick happy list.

1. Work location.
2.  Conversations.
3. Getting involved in a prenup photo shoot. It's the thing I want to do!  My former household head in SFC is getting married. The schedule has been reset due to bad weather. Last Saturday it finally happened.
4. Short stories. I finally finished the short story that I have been writing for a month. You may read it here.
5. Korean Drama and The Return of Superman
6.100 Likes. The official Facebook page of this blog has reached a milestone. The photo project in the page under #EverydayWithKoshe has been going on.
7. My brother got married.
8. I almost had a date.
9. People at work is easy to work with.
10. Reading blogs.

How about you guys what have you been up to?

What Have I Become?

Last December a photo of my college graduation appeared on my Facebook timeline. It has been five years since, and as for high school graduation it would be ten years this 2017.

Looking back I never put much thought of what will I become. The main goal was to graduate and get a job after. I don't have specific plans. Unlike to some of my friends, who I think, figured out their plans earlier. I keep thinking that I am waiting for things to happen. Now, I ask myself after waiting without concrete actions and plans, "What have I become?" Maybe going with the flow should have not taken hundred percent seriously.

What Are Your Struggles?

What are your struggles?

This is the opening question of our leader in the SFC community when he gave a talk. Usually, he would start with anecdotes relating to his talk.  It was different yet an eye opener for me, and for everyone who is struggling in their own personal lives.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 9

I know. I know I've been MIA for a long time. There are so many things happening, stories to share, and of course I’ve been adding articles for the blog line up. I just can’t write them in one sitting. I’ve been busy with work to be exact. I’ve been itching to talk to you guys. I miss blogging as you all know it keeps me sane. That’s why even though I am running late for an appointment I could that let this chance to blog pass. Hopefully, I’ll be back blogging for good.

The Sunday Currently: Vol. 8

Summer is over! There are stories needed to be written like my first Blogapalooza experience, and moments in the last days of May. There is so much to tell but on second thought I will spare you my adversity. Let us start with the Sunday currently:

25 Life Lessons at 25

To celebrate my birthday I listed 25 life lessons that I’ve learned through the years. These were impromptu since I am just taking a break from the power point presentation that I am doing for Cornerstone.

Cristina Villas Triggered Old Memories

Last April we celebrated birthdays. It was fun considering that we are unsupervised by the “adults”. It was an overnight swimming at Cristina Villas a mountain resort and hotel located at Taktak Road, Antipolo City.

Oddly enough, the place triggers old memories. Back to the day when I thought I am in love with someone.

Never Have I Ever

NEVER HAVE I EVER

Somebody told me that one should not despair on the things that I cannot do rather one should focus on enhancing what he is capable of doing. Do you agree? But sometimes we have to tell our “never have I ever” lists.  Who knows there might be people who are willing to help?

The Happy List // 4

THE HAPPY LIST

Last year I have noticed that I have been publishing melancholy letters and thoughts in my blog and on my social media accounts. I have found out that it was not healthy. To remedy everything, The Happy List series is back!

1.      I’ve noticed that I am less pessimistic these days.
2.      My father started his new job or shall I say project today.
3.      The weather is breezy.
4.      My cousin’s daughter was baptized last Sunday.
5.      Flowers and fog.
6.      Blog post ideas are instantly coming.
7.      Smooth flowing Cornerstone sessions.
8.      Discovering awesome blogs to read and follow.
9.      I am alive and healthy.
10.  Walking in Divisoria (a flea market here in PH) with no hustle at all.
11.  Pink dolls.
12.  I’ve restored my ebook.
13.  Catching up with the new episodes of The Vampire Diaries and Supergirl.

How about you? What makes you happy these days?

A Prayer for 2016

There had been discussions over social media and among my group of friends about posting a prayer online. Some think that it is not necessary because praying should be done in private and should not be publicized. They argued that it should be our personal connection with God. Personally, I agree with their reasons but it keeps me thinking that it is okay. There might be someone who will be evangelized or be reminded that there is power in prayer especially if you have prayer partners.

Free writing

FREE WRITING

I am sad, more like regret.

Nothing serious is coming out. Look what I have written here. Nonsense blah blah. What should I do? But I think this is nonsense at all. This very notion of writing of whatever comes to mind actually calms me. I like the feeling, actually even though I pause to remember the correct spelling of a word or try to go back to put a punctuation mark. I like this! I like how my mind slowly becomes at ease.

I guess it is the pleasure of accomplishing something that makes this free writing sensible.

I admit I am disappointed with myself if I have not done anything useful done. I’m used on finishing projects. I’m used of coming home late. Yet, my parents won’t complain because they know I am getting something. I am learning when I am still in school. I was earning money when I had still a decent job. But now, when I go out late they would think that I get nothing.

But I do!

I am getting something. I have not told them that I was actually ticking an item in my bucket list, by doing it. Like free writing you get nothing accurate. You get nothing serious. You don’t know how the whole article will be about much more like how it will end. Even if you decide to delete it after, what you get is a sense of peace and accomplishment within yourself. Just like doing things that would not make to your resume.

It is like that.

I may not please everyone including my parents but hey! I please myself before anyone else. I will deal with the consequences when I cross the bridge.

Why I Blog

Let me share my blogging story and the rules that I follow before I click the publish button. As I write this I am attempting to understand within myself, “Why I blog?” It is my hope that my reasons would make sense to you whether you are a blogger or not.

Cornerstone Diary: The 21st Day of November and On Dealing with Difficult Students

CORNERSTONE in Inuman Elementary School
The siblings of the tutees are also welcome to eat with us. :)
Last October 21 the Cornerstone team celebrated birthdays. We had lunch at a local fast food chain nearby. During the meal we talked about assorted things like the previous APEC, Game of Thrones, politics – on who's voting for whom, the issue of internet speed, writing poetry, and, of course, the plan for the upcoming Christmas party this December 5. We were so engaged on eating and talking that we forgot to take photos to remember the occasion.
Anyway, before that, the whole Cornerstone was normal. The routines were smoothly done, the opening prayer, the lessons delivered by my fellow volunteer tutors was okay, the food was great, and a few misbehave ones which is normal until it was time for the small group sessions. One of the tutees that I was handling was being difficult. She refused to come with me. So was determined not to study more because she had a conspirator. I was worried because my group was the only one probably not doing better in terms of reading progress.

Cornerstone Diary: MOA Signing Ceremony, Letters VOX, and Fun Game with YFC

CORNERSTONE in Inuman Elementary School
I’ve been hearing plans for Cornerstone’s Christmas party in the last sessions. To be honest, I can’t believe that it is almost December. No wonder the kids are motivated to participate and be good in group sessions. So much had happened. Here’s a photo diary of Signing of Memorandum of Agreement, lessons of letters VOX, and some snaps from the YFC.

The MOA Signing Ceremony

To formalize the affiliation between Inuman Elementary School and Cornerstone the Memorandum of Agreement Signing Ceremony was held last October 24, 2015. It was attended by the representatives of the school and of the Cornerstone. Talks were delivered. I did not hear much of them because my attention was on the kids. Plus I was taking some photos. It was a bit tiring day since we proceed to have a regular session.

CORNERSTONE in Inuman Elementary School
The parents of the tutees are always eager to support any activities that can nourish their child's knowledge.
Look at that kid staring in the camera. ;)

We were called to have a group photo then we go back to continue our activities.

Superstitious Beliefs Of Our (Filipino) Family

Ever since I was a child I was told to do things just because it was one of the superstitious beliefs that my father’s side of the family has been following. Sometimes I’d dare to disobey but it would only result in the argument within the family.

It is my hope in listing these beliefs to inform those who do not entertain old traditions that are currently implemented in the Philippines. We never know, the next place that you will be visiting is observing these beliefs more strictly than mine.
