MARY FLOR BRILLANTES ON CELEBRATING FEMININE DIVINITY

Mary Flor Brilllantes
In today’s modern way of living when all things are happening so fast, one woman is on a peculiar mission – to promote feminine divinity.

At the age of twenty-eight Mary Flor Brillantes, a graduate of BS Food Technology of the University of Santo Tomas answered yes to a calling that she considered as a vocation. A vocation she did not chose but a vocation that chose her.

Her vocation - Celebrating Feminine Divinity is a concept of celebrating motherhood either biological or not. It is a continuous recollection held on different public schools both elementary and high school which she started at the schools of Antipolo and Marikina. These recollections are approved by DEPED Antipolo and DEPED Marikina. Its purpose is to promote feminine divinity with the theme: “I stand for virginity, virtue, and chastity.” She said that this is her response for those who think that virginity is an outdated issue because she believes that it is still in and that spirituality is a lifestyle.

In the pursuit to seek support she certainly knows where to start. Because after sending the concept of her vocation, Celebrating Feminine Divinity, together with the booklets that she has written and the photos of the previous recollection to the Vatican she received Apostolic Blessing from Emeritus Pope Benedict.

She credits the start of her vocation from the influence of the people around her, the community where she belongs, her early exposure in spiritual life, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Mary Flor is a member of a different Catholic community. Aside from being a member of CFC Singles for Christ, she is also involved in doing a Block Rosary. She said that what she is doing is not a will. It is not a part-time ambition but a full-time vocation.

When asked on what she can say to the youth she answered, “Live life in pursuit of your happiness, dream as you liberate the soul within for your spirit to soar above heaven and space.”
