A Letter from The Abandoned Chairs

A Letter From The Abandoned Chairs by Jhecel

We humbly request that we may be moved to a safer place.  We feel that robbers would come to us anytime. Aside from that we feel that we are useless here.

We cannot do anything but reminisce the days that we stayed inside the classrooms. We are chairs used to sit upon whenever lectures are going on. We moved from different classrooms. We were owned by different students in a short period of time. Sometimes we would feel the back of the students sitting still. They would scribble their names on us just to leave a mark for the next user to see. Sometimes they would stick a gum under us with a coded note for their crush. Sometimes they would sit on our lap playing around jumping from chairs to chairs while waiting for the next teacher. We never complain because that is how grade school life is. We dare not complain because these are our purpose.
It had been twenty years.

Now we are here lined up at the back of a room. We cannot breathe because of the smell of the nearby comfort room. Dust are beginning to pile up.

We do not want to stay wasted. If you have plans on using us again please repair us now. Do not let the termites eat us. If you find repairs expensive then maybe you can recycle us. We would not complain if you will use us to build a toy or if you will use us as firewood. At least we stay useful until the end.

And if, you have no time at all consider us gone once the pitiful robber finds us.

  1. This is so sad but it does mirror how the government treats education in our country. Ochi | Ochi In The City

    2. This and the other problem in our Education system. Why can't they put "best education" in their top priority? But maybe we ought to do something too.
