DEFINITION OF A MOTHER

DEFINITION OF A MOTHER

I find it difficult to put into words the definition of a mother. I, as a daughter, have an ultimate respect, love and faith with my mother and to every mother that I have known my entire life. Part of my life philosophies is influenced by mother, my aunts who helped to raised me, and my ever religious grandmother. Each woman is distinct in their very own manner of speaking and their views of raising a child. But all of them have the same final motto when I become stubborn and all, in which I translated to, “All I want is the best for you. I want to see you happy.”

WHY YOU (AND I) STAY SINGLE

WHY YOU STAY SINGLE

Ever wondered why your younger cousin was first to have a boyfriend than you? This situation was discussed among my friends just recently when we talk about relationship status. So I thought I write an article on reasons why some women are still single.

1.      You have a very high standard. I get it; there should be a list for your ideal man. I have mine too. That is just like requesting for the moon. If your standards are high make sure that you fit your own standards.
2.      You have been traumatized by your friends’ unhealthy relationship. It is because you are available whenever your friends are in a bad phase of their relationship you always absorb all their vent and heartaches.
3.      You do not socialize. All the single guys you know are all in a relationship. There might be one hot guy but he is your cousin. If you are really serious in entering the dating scene go out and engage with different kind of people. The next time you get invited to a party by all means accept it.
4.      You are busy with school, your career, and all other things that are important other than dating. You can’t balance your life specially if you are focus on finishing school and getting your dream job. You do not need another distraction – as you called it.
5.      You really have not considered dating. You were not aware that being single for almost half your life matters until your cousins, and friends keep asking you about your relationship status.

DEAR ACE

LETTER TO A NEW FATHER
I had the sudden urge to write you after hearing the good news today. You are now a daddy. I am happy for you! I know that you would be a great father. I know that you were afraid that you might end up like your father. There is a possibility that you might act and discipline your child the way your father did which you hated the most. You have to accept and stop worrying.

FIRST MEMORIES IN INTRAMUROS

INTRAMUROS, MANILA
Baluarte de San Diego Gardens

The very reason my visit to Intramuros is so memorable is that I made a bad tourist out of a very historic place in my own country. What a shame! But I figure that it was for the best of both Intramuros and I.

Intramuros is also known as the wall city. The walls were built during the Spanish period wherein it is used to protect the city from foreign invasion. Everywhere you look   you can tell that it had witnessed important events in history of the Philippines. The famous Manila Cathedral is built inside Intramuros. It is also surrounded of different colleges and universities. The silence of the place when we were there makes me so excited as if it was screaming for attention  even from the smallest detail of the doors of the cafes in every street that we passed by. I guess the foreign tourists have noticed how silent it was so they act the same.

PROJECT HAPPINESS: THE HAPPY LIST

THE HAPPY LIST
In one of our group discussion in SFC we were asked to list the things that make us happy. Although, many people would argue if listing them is effective or not I would assume that making lists of things are not in there happy list. I find the activity uplifting since it focuses on what makes you happy. It set aside the things that drag our confidence down. I am proud to say that I have learned a thing in living a good life. That is focusing on the happy and positive thoughts. Move over pessimist! Here are the things that make me happy.

HIGH SCHOOL SOUNDTRACK

My life is associated with memories that I wished I have done more or better. If time and music are together I guess I ought to share how they greatly influenced my perspective in life. Whenever I hear songs being played in the radio or in one of my friend’s playlist I go back feeling and remembering where I am when the first time I heard that song. Today I am going to share songs that instantly remind me of high school.

1.      Same Ground by Kitchie Nadal
2.      Huling El Bimbo by Parokya ni Edgar

DAY OUT WITH THE CORNERSTONE TEAM

CORNERSTONE
The original plan was to enjoy an afternoon in Marikina Riverbanks Center with the Cornerstone team. But since some arrived past the agreed time we started our activity when the day turned night. It was okay. I understand because everyone has something else going on with their lives. I consider myself lucky of having plenty of time to spare. Honestly time is one thing I have one right now. Money? Definitely nothing.

SALT AND LIGHT

I wrote this poem when I was in high school as an activity in one of my class. I don’t remember having difficulty writing this one. Up to now I am still not regretting that I do not use metaphors in this poem because I can still remember what is and how to be a salt and light. I don’t revise this because I want to share what I was thinking that time.

NEVER BEEN SEEN PHOTOS WITH SFC

I had some photos that I never published on my social media accounts because I think that they are just alike with with the other photos but in different angle. Thinking about it makes me sad so I decided to put them here.
This is also a way of celebrating my eight months in the SFC community. And also to give you guys a peek on what other things we do aside on growing together spiritually. Being with them is like finding a solo petal that can add up the balance of a scale. I’m glad I did.
Oh some confession, I have a photo here that I did not like how I look so yeah. I finally have the courage of showing it to you guys. Tell me what you think. J
