LETTER TO VENUS

LETTER TO VENUS

A boy once told me that I am beautiful. I look up and stare in his eyes because I am not sure what to say. It was the first time in my existence that a boy praised my physical appearance. I am sure it happened in school because in my memory I can still smell the freshly baked bread in our Home Economics class. He normally does not say things like that. I never said a single word. I blinked and walked away. That day I wished that I have wings so I can fly and twirl and fly and twirl up in the sky.

PROJECT HAPPINESS: YOU AND OTHER THINGS

PROJECT HAPPINESS
How are you holding up? I hope you are doing fine and surviving this day. Today I am going to share a list of how we can be less worried and be happy. Incidentally I have proven them to be true based on what I have experience in my recent life activities.

1.      Don’t compromise yourself. You are all you’ve got. This quote from Janis Joplin somewhat confuses me but when I think more about it I get what her intention is. In simpler words, believe in yourself. Other people are present in your life just to guide you and to give you some conflicting choices. In the end of the day it is you who will decide what is best for you and what really is your worth.
2.      Always have a back-up plan. This does not sound positive at all. But hey, you have to accept that sometime our original plan do not work exactly on how we want it. Like, when I was doing the costume for the Little Red Hen for the Moving Up in Cornerstone the first one did not turn out okay. Good thing I have researched three designs so I am confident that I can make the costumes right on time.
3.      Keep a list of things that make you happy. List your happy things. List the happy moments and people that you give value. The objective of the list is to keep you focus on the happy thoughts not to dwell on sad moments. In doing the list please be honest with yourself. Do not put watching basketball games with my boyfriend if does not really make you happy. Okay?
4.      Smile. Lift that corner of your lips. Do it now. You will feel magic. That is instant happiness.
5.      Trust that God loves you no matter what. I do have nothing else to say than to affirm that there is someone up there who will always be at your side and will make you happy no matter what is your religion.

Be happy!

The others were in the other room practicing some dance that was being choreographed by the Youth For Christ (YFC). There were no group sessions or individual discussions.

FOUR MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES

"You may be disappointed if you fail. But you are doomed if you do not try."
 – Beverly Sills

I am making some changes here in my blog. Yes! I knew people want to read about different cultures and tradition so I am going to do that. I am thinking of featuring places and food here in the Philippines. This is a very ambitious attempt for a person who has no means in travelling. But, I believe that luck would come to those who seek for the things that he really wants.

THRIFTY FINDS

THRIFTY FINDS

Whenever I shop I have this philosophy that I keep. It does not matter if it is too pricey, cheap or second – hand as long as it is original. I have this hierarchy of things that I should buy in which I think I can save money. When I experiencied handling my own money I have learned that one should never cut his or her budget on food. Here’s a secret I spent my money mostly on food. There are other necessity that you can be thrifty like books and jewelries.

Every Saturday I always passed by the school garden of Inuman Elementary School. I never had a chance to stop and take a closer look of this flower because I am always in a hurry.

PROJECT HAPPINESS: SAY THE MAGIC WORDS

PROJECT HAPPINESS
Say the magic words. Even your pet know how.

When I was a kid I always heard abracadabra whenever other kids pretend that they were a magician. The game would not be complete if they did not say it. It was fun! Abracadabra is the magic word for those who know and practice magic tricks. But in our everyday normal life it is not the magic word.
